Guitar and electronics solo concert
Eyal Maoz's solo concert is a unique synthesis of radical Jewish Middle Eastern music, tinged with jazz, rock, electronic and avant-garde sounds. Moving between extremely delicate and raucously energetic, Maoz's playing tells the story of pain, hope, strength, joy and celebration.
Working as a solo performer, composer, ensemble leader and member of John Zorn's Cobra, Eyal has performed in New York City, Tel Aviv, Vienna and London. He has been featured on MTV and NPR.
Edom, his newest ensemble, recorded its self-titled debut on Tzadik Records with an all-star cast of John Medeski, Shanir Blumenkranz and Ben Perowsky. The music of Edom was performed in the 2005 Jewzapalooza Jewish Music Festival and has been featured in Downbeat Magazine.

These musicians have performed with John Zorn, Bang on a Can, Alarm Will Sound, Henry Kaiser, So Percussion, and more; they lead and co-lead their own bands including Gutbucket, Edom, and Burkina Electric; they have recorded on Tzadik, Cantaloupe, Enja, Knitting Factory, Intuition, Cuneiform, and others; they have written for the Kronos Quartet, Bang on a Can, American Composers Orchestra, Alarm Will Sound, Anti-Social Music, and more; and have performed across multiple continents.
